Next October 16 will commemorate 40 years since the UN, together with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), proclaimed this date as World Food Day with the aim of joining efforts to raise awareness. to the population and act against the malnutrition and hunger suffered by more than 821 million people worldwide [1] .
In 2015, various world leaders established 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with which they seek, globally, to solve goals that can be achieved in 2030 and benefit people and the environment. And it is precisely objective number 2 on the list, zero hunger, that is sought to be achieved on dates as important as this.
La Costeña® is aware of the need to work together to achieve these objectives. A few months ago it voluntarily joined the UN Global Compact, in order to align its CSR initiatives, which are divided into three pillars: education, childhood and environment.
Within the childhood pillar, it develops Chile Mobile Number List alliances and activities such as the support it provides to Comer y Crecer, a children's soup kitchen that provides balanced nutrition to children between 5 and 12 years old. In this place, 250 meals are served daily with the objective that children obtain comprehensive growth, as well as have full physical and mental development that allows them to build a meaningful life project.
Also, to raise awareness among children about what they eat and the benefits of having good consumption habits, La Costeña®, together with a psychologist, has developed teaching materials to promote a balanced diet and values, such as honesty, respect, justice and union.
The House of Friendship for Children with Cancer, IAP is another of the institutions with which La Costeña® makes efforts.
La Costeña is a 100% Mexican company that works by and for the people, so the commitment to supporting Mexican children will continue, as well as the implementation of sustainable actions, which allow it to generate a positive impact on society and the environment.
